Chris Coleman

Chris first got started in menswear working in the West End of London in the 60’s. He worked for names such as Lord John, Cecil Gee and Take 6. With London being at the forefront of fashion in this time and the rag trade being full of characters you had to learn fast and be a good salesman. After growing tied of working for others, Chris was looking to start his own business, and in 1983 he secured 71 Moorgate. As he tells most people the first 15 years was an apprenticeship and it was a steep learning curve. Chris’ wealth of experience and no nonsense approach has managed to gain him a bank of clients who return to Copperfield time and time again.

Chris still opens up at 9am every morning and loves telling the stories whilst selling the suits. Legend.

Dean Coleman

Dean joined Copperfield in the Summer of ‘15 after leaving his City Desk job after 15 years. He has always been involved in the family business, he would even work in the shop during his school holidays. From day one he faced touch challenges such as relocating the shop, expanding the alteration business and looking towards introducing a made to measure service.

Dean has learned from watching the master in action. His Dad. This has allowed him to gain his own clients, some of which have even deflected from Chris.

Copperfield has become a busy shop with clients now based all over the world. The clients requirements have also become more individual and this all takes organisation. This is why Dean can always be found behind the counter, diary open, laptop open.
